Marloth Park: a holiday town in the bush, across the river from Kruger.
Giraffe and kudu walk between the houses, and Kruger's Crocodile Bridge gate is a short drive away. Most visitors rent a self-catering house.
What is Marloth Park?
A village of holiday and family homes in the bush on the south bank of the Crocodile River. Wild animals walk freely between the houses, so giraffe, zebra, kudu and warthog wander through the gardens. Lionspruit, a fenced game reserve, sits inside the park, and Kruger National Park is on the far side of the river.
It isn't part of Kruger. You stay in Marloth and drive into the park for the day, usually through Crocodile Bridge gate.

Please don't feed the animals. Feeding makes them bold around people and cars.
Day trips into Kruger
Staying in Marloth, you only pay Kruger's conservation fee on the days you drive in. From 1 November 2026 the daily fee is:

Dry winter or green summer
Dry winter
Mild days and cool nights. The bush thins out, so animals are easier to see, and they gather near water.
Green summer
Hot, with afternoon storms, and the bush turns green. Most young animals are born in these months, and it's the better season for birds.
Holidays and malaria
December, Easter and long weekends book up early. Marloth is in a malaria area, and the risk is higher in the wet months, so speak to a doctor or clinic before you come.
